Exporting your Yahoo! Calendar into Google Calendar

This has been driving me CRAZY, and yahoo gives you no help at all doing this. Figured I’d share it for those who are having similar trouble.

  • If you have not done so already, you must switch to the new version of Yahoo! Calendar by going to the following URL: http://switch.calendar.yahoo.com/
  • Go to your calendar at http://calendar.yahoo.com/
  • Go to the “Options” button at the right side of the page and select “Share Calendar”
    • On the right side, click the “Other Ways to Share”
    • Click on the “.ICS Link” heading
    • Download the file and save to desktop or directory
  • Go to your Google Calendar: http://www.google.com/calendar
  • On left side of the page, there is a box named “Other calendars”, look for “Add” button.
    • Click on Add button
    • Click on “Import calendar”
  • Upload the file you’ve downloaded from Yahoo! Calendar.

That’s it, hope this helps some people.

Had two issues with Yahoo calendar within a month. Started using Google Calendar now and just exported Yahoo Calendar to Google Calendar. Will see how it goes.

The instructions above are quite easy to follow. Thanks a bunch!

Well maybe if Yahoo! pulled their heads out and developed their own smartphone OS, or at the very least, make a damned calendar app for Android, people wouldn’t be depending on the most conveniently logical solution to the problem they’ve created (haven’t resolved), eh?

I’d like to stay with yahoo calendar but it will no longer sync to blackberry- any one figure that one out, please do tell. yahoo says it’s blackberry software and blackberry says its yahoo software. sounds like our congress! why can’t we get along!?

Hmmm. Yahoo won’t help you transfer to Google? I wonder why they won’t help you move to the primary competitor that’s so close to killing them off for good.
