Is it time to start a small business?

The world is changing.

We are going from a middle man economy to a direct model. What does that mean?

Well… for the last few hundred years, the majority of people traded their time and talent to a middle man. A corporation or business that would take that work and resell it to others. They were the distributor. Certainly it’s more complicated than that but that is what was happening in a nut shell.

Now with the internet everything has changed. Distribution is no longer controlled by the “few”, it is now in the hands of the many. We are in the middle of a revolution of sorts. Vast numbers of businesses are already being eliminated or being drastically altered to survive and the number of Independent Contractors/Small Businesses are rising at record levels.

Q: So is it time to start a small business?

A: There has never been a better time to start your small business!

Now is the time to begin. You don’t have to quit your job and do it in drastic fashion. On the contrary, start it up while you have your existing job. Nurture it and let it organically tell you when it’s time to go out on  your own or just keep it as a source of extra income on the side.

  • Many don’t think you have any talent to start a business with

NONSENSE! In today’s world almost any passion you have can be turned into a business. There is so much to choose from. You just need some help figuring that out.

  • Many of you don’t know anything about starting a business

That’s OK. Today there are more ways to get help then ever before!

If you are interested in starting a business the first thing to think about, is what are your passions.

What makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning, to do? This is the place to start.

Today people are turned on by authenticity.

People are desperate to connect! We are so Disconnected from each other today because of the Internet. You used to actually have to leave your house to engage other people or to do just about anything. Now you can happily sit in front of your computer for days on end and never interact directly with anyone.

Also, the information age is OVER. Being able to give people information used to be where all the power was. Not anymore. Now information is free and at your fingertips. The problem is, how to find good information. For most of us, we are now too busy to listen to hype, too busy to listen to the endless  noisy marketing that is hitting us 24/7. Nowadays people want a connection with someone, they want to trust someone who they believe knows what they are talking about and can help them get through the noise.

That person can be you,

and it can be you helping them with whatever is your own passion. Your joy and enthusiasm will show through and connect. This is what people are desperate for today.

How do you start? Well… one of the best ways is to hire a coach. A coach that can help you figure out how to start your own business and more importantly help you figure out a business that can succeed, based around your passions.
